The Work

We analyzed data from rig SCADA systems that passed through multiple layers of architecture before reaching the enterprise level for decision-making. Our task was to use our DQM solution to validate individual data channels while the company digitized all their rigs. Our experience includes offshore drilling, subsea processes, rotary equipment, and dynamic positioning systems.

The Challenge

The industry has experienced problems deploying maintenance and process optimization algorithms due to the lack of data validation in their data acquisition. Each rig and operation can collect over 40,000 signals, and measuring them for validity, accuracy, and reliability was a problem to be solved.

The Solution

Using our DQM data validation software, we provided technology to validate all necessary signals at scale.

The Results

Users were able to deploy reliable and resilient enterprise algorithms at scale. The DQM can audit their ICS and SCADA architectures to understand where data acquisition is failing and/or collecting bad data, resulting in a 60% decrease in time deploying algorithms and digitalizing drilling rigs and other operations and a 35% increase in operational efficiency.
